You evil liberals are scaring the poor sweet and innocent tea parties. They aren't crazy you are.

"I had nothing to do with the murders that happened or the shooting of Gabriel Giffords," Humphries said. "And I wonder, if he (Fuller) is crazy or is he the canary in a coal mine? Is he saying what a lot of other people are holding in their hearts? If so, that's a problem."

Humphries is having none of it. "A lot have taken as gospel that the sheriff says that this was caused by talk radio, by Tea Party extremists, that that must be the case. I think it's done a lot of damage. It's given people the idea that somebody like my wife and I caused this murder. There's no evidence. And there's no evidence Sarah Palin caused this murder," he said. "The Democrats are using this opportunity to bludgeon their opponents. People don't want to hear that it was just some stupid, evil act that had no bearing in rationality. They want it to make sense."
This guy is funny

Humphries was reluctant to talk about the threats he's received, saying he didn't want to come off as though the was trying to steal the spotlight from the grieving families. One of Humphries' neighbors was shot on Saturday, and he said the event has hit him very hard personally.
"I don't want to whine," Humphries told me when I asked about the phone calls. "Obviously you step into the arena you're going to take hits."
This guy blamed everyone for threats

Humphries says statements made by Pima County Sheriff Charles Dupnick have prompted a string of hateful calls and e-mails to him and other members of his movement.
"A lot have taken as gospel that the sheriff says that this (shooting) was caused by talk radio, by Tea Party extremists, that that must be the case," Humphries told the British publication The Guardian. "I think it's done a lot of damage. It's given people the idea that somebody like my wife and I caused this murder.

The Arizona congresswoman shouldn't have attended an event "in full view of the public" if she had security concerns, according to Tucson Tea Party co-founder Trent Humphries.
"It's political gamesmanship," he told the Guardian. "The real case is that she [Giffords] had no security whatsoever at this event. So if she lived under a constant fear of being targeted, if she lived under this constant fear of this rhetoric and hatred that was seething, why would she attend an event in full view of the public with no security whatsoever?"
Guess who has to get security now.

In Arizona, authorities said vandals broke a glass door Monday morning at the Tucson office of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, a top election target of the GOP.
"Giffords is toast," said Tucson tea party leader Trent Humphries. "She's going to have a lot of problems, especially since she has some really good candidates running against her."
