Redstate
Anyone ever try to comment at REDSTATE? I registered ten days ago to rebuke a time line suggesting Obama's unemployment numbers were worse than Reagan's. (Under Obama, unemployment began at 7.7 and was 9.8 in November of his second year; under Reagan, it was 7.5 and 10.8). I didn't get a response. Maybe they couldn't think of a way to fudge the numbers.
Today, there is a blog condemning Pelosi (entitled National debt increased 60% under Speaker Pelosi) for the budget deficits. Yeah, I know. So, I commented under my user name of coffeeparty. I said.
OK. Now I get it. I was confused about who gets credit or who gets blame. Now that this has been settled, I think we should begin carving Mt. Rushmore with Tip’s face for his budgets that ended the Soviet Union
.
I got two responses from my post that I was just chompin' at the bit to obliterate, but I could not log in. Instead, I received the message "601 Database redigestation error". According to Wikipedia, this is what happens to liberals who challenge the powers at Redstate. Also, shortly after, they posted a blog entitled "You Are Entering a Republican Zone". Basically, this states that liberals are welcomed so long as they act like the Washington Generals or Alan Combs when he was part of H&C. (His show, if you haven't heard it, is quite entertaining as Combs is not handcuffed like on H&C)
It's a shame that they can't accept a challenge. It's a shame they need the comfort of their kind only. It's a shame that we can't have an honest debate and maybe, possibly, learn from each other.
Besides, this only reinforces my contention that conservatives are primarily "belief oriented", that they seek information to confirm their beliefs, rather than form beliefs based on information.
