Today on Faux Newz, Tea Party poster boy and newly elected senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul, made a statement on the attempted assassination of Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ):
"I looked at some of the writings of this young man," Paul told Fox News' Bret Baier Sunday. "From a medical point of view, there is a lot to suggest paranoid schizophrenia, that this man was a really sick individual," he said of Jared Loughner, the man suspected of shooting Giffords.
Really, Rand?
So,Rand and other Tea Bagger types are now proclaiming that Loughner is clearly imbalanced because of the paranoid and delusional conspiracy theories that he espoused. Ironically, we now have confirmation from a key player and leader of the tea bagger movement that many of this group's mobilizing ideological beliefs are in fact paranoid and delusional conspiracy theories.
To wit, Rand Paul campaigned on the twin goals of abolishing the Federal Reserve (which is presumably a grand plot hatched by the Rockafellers and other banking magnates to strip the Americans of their national sovereignty)and second returning the US to the gold standard.
Furthermore, he argued that these twin steps also were necessary to stop the one-world government forces from ending the US currency and establishing the Amero, which would lead to the US, Canada, and Mexico becoming a unified political-economic entity. [Regional consolidation deemed to be the penultimate step before the one world government controlled by a secret cabal of elites takes full control.
Rand Paul has also been a frequent guest of Alex Jones who uses his radio show and websites to engage in all kinds of "one world government" scare mongering and 9/11 conspiracy spinning.
On one appearance, Rand Paul supported Jones' claim that climate change legislation was a ruse to establish a police state whereby the one world elites could further pursue their oppressive agenda:
Paul noted that should the climate bill become law, "we will have an army of armed EPA agents--thousands of them." These EPA troopers, according to Paul, would be free to burst into homes and apartments to determine if they were meeting energy-efficiency standards.

From "Rand Paul and His 9/11 Conspiracy Theorist Friend"
Mother Jones story on Alex Jones and Rand Paul
Speaking of Alex Jones and his media "empire," it is a long strange trip over to his Infowars site (and the related Prison Planet message board).
One of the lead stories reads - "Toning down the rhetoric means obeying Big Government." The closing passage from this "report" reads:
By exploiting tragedies to coerce Americans into "toning down the rhetoric," the establishment hopes to suffocate criticism of the state, opposition to Obamacare (next week’s hearings on a repeal have already been cancelled), and allow the march of big government to continue unimpeded.
The next Infowars front page story is "Arizona Assassin Obsessed with Mind Control."
This intrepid reporter makes a case that Loughner had been targeted by the CIA (due to his fragile mental state) to become a mind controlled killer that could be used for a false flag operation
The CIA’s use of mind control to create killers is a matter of historical record. MK-ULTRA was the code name for a covert, illegal CIA human research program, run by the Office of Scientific Intelligence that came to light in 1975 through investigations by the Church Committee, and by a presidential commission known as the Rockefeller Commission. 14-year CIA veteran Victor Marchetti insists that the program is ongoing and has not been abandoned.
The reason for the false flag - discussed on other places on the site -- is presumably to quell Tea Party resistance and allow President Obama-- who is commonly referred to as Barry Soetero (and argued to be a foreign born CIA controlled plant of the one-world government) to of course establish the police state. {Side note - man these CIA/one world govt. operatives are having a dickens of time getting this police state established.]
Now when you go to the message board, where the general readership posts their belief and evidentiary claims, the general consensus is again the AZ. tragedy CIA was a mind control false flag for purposes of taking people guns away, letting "Soetero's death panels" get to work while everyone is distracted, putting the police state into motion, cracking down on the 9//11 truth movement and other enlightened factions who are just about to bring the system down (with their scathing internet post presumably), etc. etc.
Oh, yes the DailyKos gets some mention on this site as a CIA controlled propaganda outlet used to spread disinformation and mind control memes that serve the interests of the one-world government (Kossacks you know who you are).
So back to Jared Loughner. When you place his email rants in the context of this extreme libertarian/militia movement world-view, they are not the idiosyncratic ravings a lunatic. Rather, they are a mash-up of many of the core aspects of this world-view. Also, Jones may be the pied piper of this political movement but Glenn Beck has been very instrumental in mainstreaming some of these ideas as have Bachmann and Palin.
Of course, Loughner was deeply troubled (those are the kind of people who go on shooting rampages) but his political views which Rand Paul now decries as paranoid and delusional are in fact shared by a significant segment of Rand's political based. Furthermore, Rand has endorsed many if these beliefs albeit in a more subdued and coherent manner.
So, the extreme right/tea bag faction can disavow, deny, and back track all they want, the paper (and internet trail) is there for anyone who cares to explore this twisted rabbit hole of political ideology. This "blood on their hands" camp should and indeed must include the so-called mainstream Repug leaders who tacitly and sometimes explicitly condoned tea bagger rhetoric for quick political gain (ala Mitchell, Cantor, Boehner, Bachmann, Wilson, etc.)
Addendum: Another defensive line now being used by the extreme right apologists is the claim that Loughner was in fact a liberal democrat who was targeting Judge Rollins (and got Giffords by accident). This meme reflects a clear case of mistaken identity traceable to early reports that murder/assassin was "Jared Laughner." Immediately, the infowars gang published image shots of Laughner's face book page which does indeed suggest support for President Obama and other progressive icons. But, it was the wrong freakin' guy. However, you still see "hey don't blame Palin/Fox because he was a lib" meme now being posted all over the place on CNN, Raw Story and other interactive news sites.
