It was awesome. In the end, over 1800 people signed in! And surely there were hundreds more who stopped at least for a while, who did not officially register. Pictures below.
This is a good thing. A VERY good thing. For the first time since a long time ago I am encouraged that something is happening in here. And it is good. If you're nearby, take the time to come and see. 200 cities, thousands at each one and more. After a while even Chris Matthews will have to stop trying to make it TeaPartyLeft (but it may take a while with that one).
In the early afternoon, lots of cheers and some speaking, then several hundred marched to the Federal Reserve building, and back. Police escort (although I don't know how official that was, it was a pretty good thing). In the evening, a rally and a General Assembly. Permission to stay overnight, but no tents.
Of course, all types of folks. Many reasons. Several rand-bots but thankfully nothing organized. Perhaps a dozen policemen and/or sheriffs, laid back, no stress. Real people, real concerns, no decorated bus, no glossy posters, no assault on reason, no marketing. And a congressperson, with no speech. What it should be.
I'm going back today.
Lots of fine folks out, and always the signs. Enjoy.
Awwww.....
