No really, honestly. Bear with me a bit here
I can hear you folks now. "But non violence worked in so many other places!"
Non violence didn't really work in the South in the sixties until it had the federal government with soldiers and all the violence they implied.
Non violence didn't really work for India. Britain was an exhausted empire teetering on collapse, had been since World War One. And what they have now is so much better. You could fit all of the shot callers in India into one room. A large majority of the population live in poverty that would make the poverty we find in the US look like a children's book.
Non violence DEFINITELY didn't work in the middle east, outside of Egypt. (and one could argue it didn't work in Egypt, as the army is running the country now) Mohimar Kadaffi's regime had to be destroyed by it's own people, dug out by it's greasy root with liberally applied doses of violence by an army organized mostly of formerly peaceful protesters who were attacked with gunships.
Non violence only works when the other side has shame, the lizard brained fucks that call the shots for the most of the world will need to be dug out, like Kadaffi. This will not be easy, and I think we have a long road ahead as the other side rips it's mask off, revealing its monstrous face.
