Meeting every day at noon, a group of Occupy protesters engage in silent meditation for 1 hour. There is a core group of 10-15 people. In the past 2 days the group has swelled to over 100 as others join in.
Their spot has been on the steps into City Hall park, but due to the recent upheavals, they have been meeting in front of the Walgreen's on the corner of 14th and Broadway. Once the park becomes peaceful again and open to Occupy, they will reconvene on the steps.
Here is a small prayer from my friend who joins daily:
May the government free its self from the need to feed on the special interest money.
May all people be happy
May all people be free.
May there be a peaceful end to the Occupy Oakland stand off.
This action of silent meditation for one hour at noon daily can be done in any Occupy space. Please be present for Oakland and all who occupy.
