So I'm passing through Phoenix airport on my way home to NYC when lo and behold I hear voice behind me saying "Hello, Senator McCain!"
I turned around and there he was, John McCain. Quickly I stepped towards him, but not too quickly, lest I frighten him. When observing Senate Republicans in the wild one must not move too quickly, lest they startle these gentle beltway creatures.
"Senator McCain! Will you denounce police violence against Occupy Wall Street protestors in Oakland and Denver?"
He glanced at me and then walked away with nary a word.
I wish I had my camera ready.
The funny thing is, he looks grumpy in real life.
Just thought I'd share this weird moment near the end of my travels. I guess John was busy to go talk to a lobbyist or something.
Peace,

8:32 AM PT: Sorry for the short diary, this happened so quick and I am jumping on a connecting flight right away, so I just wanted to get this out there because, well, how often do I get to ask Senators questions face to face? Peace and love to all, even grumpy old men.
