I have been doing my banking (is it still banking when it's a credit union?) here for about 20 years. When I am done with my transactions and they say "Thank you, any thing else we can do for you?" I always say, "Well, I would like some free money".
Today they handed me ten bucks.
Let me tell you more after the orange squiggle of joy.
Summit Credit Union is having a pay it forward promotion. As in here's a ten, go help someone, take your mom out to lunch, plant a tree, whatever. No strings attached.
While the big banks are trying to nickle and dime you are rather $5.00 and $10.00 you, this place wants to give you money to go help someone else, give to a cause, make the world a better place.
He handed me the CASH and I could only just stand there. Swirling through my mind is this is why we occupy. This is what Democracy looks like. This is what the 1% fears. Holy flying spaghetti monster, it's practically socialism. No bank would ever do this would they?
I don't want to tell you what to do, but, do you need another reason to belong to a credit union. Union is in its name.
I love my credit union.
And what am I going to do with Mr. Hamilton?
