What would happen if Jefferson County was apart of Indiana instead of Kentucky?
The state goes up to 10 Congressional districts and 12 electoral college votes. The average CD size is 722,489. President Obama won the state with 51.13% of the vote. With the addition of Louisville, Indiana now has two major cities. The major effect of the addition of Louisville is the refocus onto Southern Indiana that would happen. I would think this would be a state Obama would contest in 2012, no matter what. Oh and this is a Democratic Gerrymander.
Statewide.
Population: 7,224,898
Obama: 1,563,128; 51.13%
McCain: 1,493,855; 48.86%
10th Congressional District - Blue
-I'm not sure if I hurt John Yarmuth by adding downtown Louisville to the 5th CD. If I did, just pretend like I didn't!
5th Congressional District - Green
-This district goes from Lafayette, down through Terra Haute, through Evansville, and over to Jeffersonville, and finally into downtown Louisville. Like I said, I'm not sure if it was a good idea to put the downtown into this district. It's really fine without it, but I thought it would increase the PVI slightly. It was only 18,859 people anyways.
Percentages without the Louisville portion.
Obama:
McCain:
1st Congressional District - Blue
Obama: 182,013; 58.3%
McCain: 127,647; 40.9%
2nd Congressional District - Yellow
Obama: 185,455; 61.6%
McCain: 112,605; 37.4%
3rd Congressional District - Purple
Obama: 182,091; 60.3%

4th Congressional District - Red

The rest are obviously Republican districts, therefore BORING.
