The Huffington post has begun a journey across the country to visit the occupy movements that have sprung of from Main Street to Main Street. They begin their series in Gainesville, Florida, telling the stories of three of those who have taken on the commitment to "occupy."
This is followed by a eulogy that I delivered mourning the fact that our constitution (small "c" - the principles and the form of government meant to ensure them) have, in practice, been taken from us - as evidenced by the police crackdowns of peaceful assemblies across the nation.
Parchment documents of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights were placed in open casket to be mourned during a wake the next few days, along with a granite headstone, in Gainesville's Bo Diddley Community Plaza (the place of nearly 30 arrests so far), and will be formally laid to rest on Thanksgiving.
