Whoever it was who bought me a subscription, thank you. I appreciate the kindness. That said, I certainly didn't need anyone to buy me a subscription. I can afford my own. I just never bought one because A) I didn't mind the ads, and B) I figured kos was making a living off the site, as it was, and this was his business.
So now I have all of this guilt because some anonymous human bought me a subscription. How am I going to live with myself? How can I keep posting here? Jeezus H. Kryst, you damned anonymous subscription purchaser, you've ruined this place for me!
Okay, okay, there is only one thing I can do to assuage the guilt trip laid upon me by the anonymous purchaser: pass along the guilt by buying an anonymous subscription for someone else I love here who deserves a subscription. I have someone in mind. And I will undertake the purchase shortly.
With that, I want to make one thing clear: I'm warning you, kos, I better see a hundred bucks worth of improvement in this place pretty quickly once I drop my C-note. If I find out you're simply using all of this money to fuel your expensive bicycle addiction, I'll call you out in a diary that will be talk of the blogging world.
So, thank you to my anonymous benefactor. I'm off to drop a hundred of my own hard-earned bucks on someone who deserves the honor.
Geez, this inherent kindness stuff is hard...
[UPDATED]
Okay, I didn't realize that I had received an email from the person who had purchased my subscription. The email address I use for my Daily Kos registration is one I never check because I use it primarily for registering for sites, junk mail, etc. I look at it once a month just to clean it out. And I didn't realize that I would receive an email informing me of the gift-giver, if the giver didn't wish to remain anonymous.
So thank you, [PERSON TO BE NAMED LATER]!
You just cost me a hundred bucks!
