We often see in equality and women's rights diaries such as Kaili Joy Gray's comments by those representing the MRA [Men's Rights Activists] spouting only what can be termed as drivel.
Indeed the meme has become women are more equal than men to some denizens of Mars, however let us look at some of the facts here on earth.
I don't intend to get into a war of the sexes; but just to highlight the real world data as the facts matter when discussing equality.
Just to make sure the record is straight, follow me over the hop:
Gender and Race play an issue with respect to earnings

Ah yes; but, but...um no
Even accounting for factors such as occupation, industry, race, marital status and job tenure, reports the GAO, working women today earn an average of 80 cents for every dollar earned by their male counterparts. This pay gap has persisted for the past two decades, remaining relatively consistent from 1983-2000.
The situation remains the same.
Sexual assault
Lifetime rate of rape /attempted rape for women by race:1
* All women: 17.6%
* White women: 17.7%
* Black women: 18.8%
* Asian Pacific Islander women: 6.8%
* American Indian/Alaskan women: 34.1%
* Mixed race women: 24.4%
Men
About 3% of American men — or 1 in 33 — have experienced an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime.1
* In 2003, 1 in every ten rape victims were male.2
* 2.78 million men in the U.S. have been victims of sexual assault or rape.1
All rape is vile, but the truth is women are 6 times as likely to be raped, and the assailant in both cases is predominantly male about 97% of all cases
Most rapists of either gender identify themselves as heterosexual, just to prevent another myth.
Domestic violence
* Of the almost 3.5 million violent crimes committed against family members, 49% of these were crimes against spouses.
* 84% of spouse abuse victims were females, and 86% of victims of dating partner abuse at were female.
* Males were 83% of spouse murderers and 75% of dating partner murderers
* 50% of offenders in state prison for spousal abuse had killed their victims. Wives were more likely than husbands to be killed by their spouses: wives were about half of all spouses in the population in 2002, but 81% of all persons killed by their spouse.
Violence in the LGBT community
Again the same trends.
Very little statistical data is available for our transgender community, although they are one of the most vulnerable groups. If anyone has some please add to the comments.
Now for some obvious facts
Distribution of unwanted pregnancies by gender
Women 100%
Men 0%
Distribution of abortions by gender
Women 100%
Men 0%
Nearly half of all pregnancies were unintended, both genders bear equal responsibility in this and in general awareness is equally shared
Another little fact.
When we talk or right about the need for us to be equal we are not wanting to remove men's rights merely to have the same rights.
