At a recent rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, Michele Bachmann implicitly began her run for president. This was overshadowed, however. As always, Michele Bachmann couldn't leave a speech without giving those on the base something to mock Republicans with. This time, it was her evident lack of any comprehension of elementary-level American history.

The good Congresswoman, who boasts about her love of the Founding Fathers and of our revolutionary origins, decided to take off from the state she was speaking from, and made a comparison regarding Concord, our state capital.
"You're the state where the shot was heard 'round the world at Lexington and Concord!"
Thus stated the patriotic and not at all uninformed Congresswoman from Minnesota. However, as all of you liberal intellectual elitists who graduated from the third grade know, the "shot heard 'round the world" took place in Massachusetts. We do have a Concord- it's our state capital. However, it sure didn't see the shot heard 'round the world.
What is being overlooked, I think, is that the first shot was not fired at Concord at all. It was fired at Lexington. I did some research, and it turns out that New Hampshire doesn't have a town of Lexington at all. However, it has a condominium building and a ski club named Lexington, neither of which saw any Revolutionary battles.
Of course, Michele decided to get herself out of the hole she dug by trying to get to China. (We should probably tell her that she would find some Communists.) So, she took to the great national soapbox for all good conservative patriots, Facebook, and made herself clear.
“So I misplaced the battles Concord and Lexington by saying they were in New Hampshire. It was my mistake, Massachusetts is where they happened. New Hampshire is where they are still proud of it!”
As much as I want to try to parse that statement, and explain that support of President Obama and the Democrats doesn't make one unpatriotic, I'm going to resist.
So, in conclusion, Michele Bachmann revealed that she doesn't know that the Battles of Lexington and Concord happened in Massachusetts, and she revealed that she believed that the first shots were fired both in Lexington and Concord... Michele Bachmann, apparently, is not smarter than a fifth grader.
