Today, millions of Americans will trudge to work on Easter Monday while our brothers in more secular nations do not. Let's drive a wedge between the corporations and conservative Christians with this simple proposal: Good Friday and Easter Monday are national and/or state holidays. The proposal can be put on the ballots in many states. This will unite secular people who want two more days of holidays in our overworked society and religious Christians. It would illustrate the stakes in the next election very clearly, drawing out people who don't always vote. The hypocrisy of the alliance between business interests and religion will be exposed.
How will Boehner react? He would likely cave and we get two days off. Otherwise, we can run very simple ads that say "John Boehner: Against Jesus". I'll let you imagine the photoshop possibilities.
