After my craptacular day, I just have this to say.
And, where's my damn strawberry daqueri?!
Let's move on to "this day in history." On April 25, 1908, Edward R. Murrow, the influential American radio and television broadcaster during the industry's early years, was born.
Late spring at Current TV can't come soon enough!
Another one of my near - the - top favorite actors is celebrating a birthday today; happy 71st birthday to Al Pacino! :D I will tango with him any day of the week & twice on Sunday!!
Now, it's time for SPARK! Here's some really really REALLY big government for y'all. Beer nuts the world over are in mourning. Oh man, I would SO DO THIS in a heart beat, but make my street Lombardo Street!! :D Finally, this young lady can officially kick a$$ & take names. :D Where was she today when I needed her?!
On with The Rachel Maddow Show!
"Is This Thing On?" - Just to review, boys & girls, GOBP Congress critters are HEARING IT from their constituents about their voting for Rep. Paul Ryan's bill. ;D Rachel then continued her little beltway media rant about liberal coverage by saying that said beltway media rarely (if ever) treats liberal political activity as relevant political activity. Some of the beltway media RESPONDED over this past weekend! :D And, Rachel sported her ear tag for the cause! HA!! Too damn funny!!
Rep. Shaun Duffy got a little huffy during 1 of his town halls - thin skinned little bastard.
A little conference call is happening tomorrow for those poor widdle GOBP Congress critters that are HEARING about their Rep. Ryan vote from their constituents. What was it that President Truman said about heat & kitchens? Dems & other groups are actually moving on this shtick & running ads! $HIT!! Chris Hayes is the segment guest sans ear tag. ;D The GOBP took the 2010 results as some sort of mandate to roll back every social safety net program dating back to FDR; they are now finding out they were WRONG. Chris would LOVE for Rep. Ryan's bill to go to the Senate to either go down in flames & see which GOBP Senator voted for it OR have it pass the Senate & President Obama veto the mofo - so...would...I!
"Really Really REALLY Big Government" - We get another review of the lovely activities going on in MI because their Governator has read Oliver Twist 1 too many times. Those arrested at Ferguson Academy were not held for very long - thankfully. Schools on the closure list in Detroit will have a chance to make their case over the next few days - including Ferguson Academy. The Emergency Manager alone gets to decide what schools stay open & what schools will close. Some big - wigs visited Benton Harbor, MI today. Rev. Jesse Jackson instructed residents of Benton Harbor to organize & sue today. Uh, is he going to give them the money for legal fees? That community ain't exactly swimming in coin, ya' know!
MI State Rep. Fred Durhal & others are getting ready to challenge this MI financial marshall law on a Constitutional basis. Yea, good luck with that - especially if the MI SC has justices like Prosser, Scalia, Thomas, etc. Over 100 districts in Detroit are in real financial crisis along with oodles of towns in MI. So, can Gov. Snyder in MI be recalled?! He's going to be a grand marshall in a parade in Benton Harbor next week?! Oh, please pelt him with rotten maters, please pelt him with rotten maters, PLEASE PELT HIM WITH ROTTEN MATERS!!
[How 'bout that jail break in that fancy shmancy prison in Afghanistan over the weekend?! Guess someone needs to solidify the floors!]
"#Jail" - Gitmo's still open, and military commissions are still going on - 2 campaign promises broken. There was a big 'ol document dump about Gitmo detainees concerning their mental health, if they're still a danger, etc. The whole system is a big 'ol stinky mess.
Charlie Savage helped to bring us the big Gitmo document dump. There aren't a whole lot of new headlines but a big 'ol amount of nitty gritty details. He thinks Gitmo is here to stay; good gawd, I hope he's wrong. Get some Dems with civil rights chutzpah in Congress, and Gitmo will go the way of Crystal Pepsi! Rachel thinks a lot of "evidence" that's propping up the military commissions is basically hearsay & would be inadmissible in a "normal" courtroom. How 'bout in THIS courtroom? ;D
"The Buddy System" - Senator McCentury & his assorted Mini - Mes are ready & rarin' to bomb bomb bomb bomb - bomb Libya & Kodaffy. The aforementioned Senators were all buddy - buddy with Kodaffy in a trip in August 2009.
"May It Please the Court" - Hey! It's Now - Impeached IL Governor Potty Mouth!! Wow, who would've thunk we'd get to a point where I MISS him?! Rachel's time with the "good impeached Governator" will be part of his 2nd trial; I bet Rachel's damn proud. ;D I wonder if Rachel will get to go to court?
