So, we have all heard about the recall efforts in Wisconsin. It looks like we will have at least 6 Republicans facing recall elections and perhaps 3 of the "Fab 14" facing recall elections (unless, of course, the fraudulent signatures are thrown out). Lot's of news about all of that has been on the Rec List for DKos over the past few weeks. I thought I would add this new news...
A recall effort targeting two Democratic state senators has fallen short at the deadline.
From: The Wisconsin State Journal
Organizers had until Monday afternoon to turn in petitions to recall Sen. Lena Taylor of Milwaukee and Sen. Fred Risser of Madison. But the organizers failed to meet the deadline.
From WBAY 2 (Green Bay):
A spokesman for the group trying to recall Senator Spencer Coggs of Milwaukee says it won't be filing petitions with the state this week, either.
Petitions for recalling Coggs and Senator Mark Miller of Monona are due Tuesday.
The Recall Miller (D-Monona) effort.... Well, they are desperately trying to get people to turn in their petitions today.

None of these were vulnerable, but it is still great news that out of state paid signature gatherers could not con enough folks into signing on!
Yeah, I know. This is a short diary. But, I'm tired, you have already read a ton on this issue, and it is very newsworthy!
Update (4/26 8:41 Central)
This is old, but explains part of what is going on with the recall efforts. Props to Howard Dean & Democracy for America and the Progressive Change Committee -- with this type of support, these efforts will be sustained!
Democracy for America, the group started by Howard Dean following his failed 2004 election, said it has raised nearly $800,000 to run ads and help with the recall campaign, which communications director Levana Layendecker described as “unprecedented for a non-election year issue.” In addition, 2,500 volunteers have signed up with DFA to help gather signatures. The group, with 25,000 members in Wisconsin alone, expects that number to only grow.
The Progressive Change Campaign Committee, which has nearly 25,000 Wisconsin members its mobilizing as well, is pouring massive resources into an ad campaign to keep momentum behind the recall efforts. Their efforts include a new spot focusing on three GOP state senators (Alberta Darling, Dan Kapanke and Randy Hopper).
This was posted on the "Recall Miller" Facebook Page this morning:
Petitions go in later today. We are only short a few hundred signatures! We will have a rep at the Monona golf course from 9am on to take your signatures and petition sheets. This is it!! Make a difference and make the effort to get over and sign. Call your friends and coworkers and ask them to do the same!
They might get what they need, but it likely won't hold up to challenges if they are only slightly over the threshold.
Update - 9:01
Hopper gets challenge extension. Good things organizers submitted over 5000 signatures more than what was needed!
In his request for an extension in Dane County Court, Hopper said he was reviewing what he called "a significant number of irregularities and invalid signatures" on the petitions.
He said as many as 1,000 signatories appear to come from outside his district. He said there appeared to be a number of duplicate signatures, numerous instances of entries with incomplete or invalid information, and entries with illegible or inconsistent handwriting.

I'm sick of Fred Rissers dedication to workers. We need more tax cuts for the job creators! ALL HAIL JOB CREATORS! I support the newest Walker bill, that would have all of Wisconsins first born sons sold to various corporations and wealthy indivudals as slav... interns. First born sons as interns.

Please tell me where to go to donate to the campaigns of the Dems involved in these recalls. Waiting for a reply with baited breath.
The recall efforts will be pretty exciting over the next few days. The efforts to recall Republican Senators need to turn in petitions on May 2. We need to keep the momentum going during the challenges and recall elections. Here is how you can donate:

Update (5:41)
Recall efforts for Democratic Senators Coggs and Miller Fail...
This despite a last second push at a golf course today.
Channel 3000:
Organizers for the committees to recall Sen. Mark Miller of Monona and Sen. Spencer Coggs of Milwaukee failed to turn in recall petitions by Tuesday's deadline.
While efforts to recall Coggs are likely dead, a second recall committee for Miller has a later filing deadline. Miller organizers that missed Tuesday's deadline did not immediately return calls for comment.
