Charlie Sheen has a drug problem, acts insane, lashes out at his TV bosses - gets fired.
Glenn Beck used to have an alcohol problem, just might be insane, lashes out at everyone - asked to leave by Fox.
Donald Trump has many, many problems. He is a crude egomaniac of a liar. He is insane enough to jump into race baiting. Using his famous tag line, he should be fired.
Indulge my small, almost token, personal experience below the fold.
Trump needs to be held accountable for his speech and conduct. If Sheen and Beck can be sacked, then Trump is certainly expendable and I'm confident he will find another business to lead into bankruptcy very soon. I called NBC studios and left a voicemail suggesting an end to his show or advertisers and other shows will start taking the heat. NBC's Jerry Seinfeld has spoke out, as well as Robert DeNiro, who hosted SNL this season.
Among my emails today, was an ad from Omaha Steaks. I finally got to the email this evening and almost missed exactly what I was looking for at the bottom of the page. It included an extra banner ad, promoting a full episode product placement on Trump's NBC Apprentice show and still running a sweepstakes based on the show.
Instead of just dropping my subscription with a click of a mouse, there was an option to call their toll free number to be removed. So I did. I was very matter of fact in the removal. At the end of the call I brought up the reason. It was their association with Trump.
The operator was polite, even nice, and I went on to explain I didn't blame their company. Who knew how insane this man was a couple of weeks ago. It's only in the last several days that these race baiting statements and insults started coming out with increased frequency and with an angrier tone.
I recommended they run away from the show as fast as they can and maybe do a new sweepstakes on their own. That's what I'm doing. Running away from companies with Trump, no business from me. Again, the rep thanked me for the input and said they need that feedback to know what is important to their customers. If they drop Trump, I could sign up again.
For anyone that likes Omaha Steaks, let them know what they need to do in regards to dropping Trump from their advertising schedule and promotions. I feel better now and maybe something happens if others do the same. Dump the Trump!
P.S. - I actually feel bad for Omaha Steaks. I've not known them to advertise in fringe political areas. I think they were blindsided. They invested heavily in this cross promotion. They have 600 pictures of their red carpet experience on their facebook page. Their show aired two weeks ago. Horrible timing. But right is right, and the better business decision will be to publicly pull out and change the sweepstakes to another theme.
Anyone else have any high profile advertisers to contact? Something besides the obviously dreadful hotels and casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas.
