From the wires:
EL PASO, Texas—A Texas jury has found an elderly ex-CIA agent from Cuba not guilty of all 11 counts of perjury, obstruction and immigration fraud.
After a 13-week trial, jurors deliberated for just three hours before agreeing Friday to exonerate 83-year-old Luis Posada Carriles.
I'm quite speechless. The government has botched this case since day one.
And now, a terrorist who blew up hotels in Cuba and masterminded the bombing of a Cuban airliner will walk totally free.
I've been following this case for years, and am exceptionally disappointed, but not surprised. Posada has been the U.S. government's favorite terrorist for five decades.
I've been writing about Luis Posada Carriles on DKos since 2005.
Today, I'm firmly convinced that there is no justice in this country that money, influence, or purposefully botched federal prosecutions can't buy.
