So Jeff Session is apparently challenging President Obama to make the debt negotiations public. I have two words for him (not those two words).. Bring It.
Need I remind you how ridiculous Republicans look when they try to go toe-to-toe with President Obama?
You can ask John McCain. Obama did great in the health care summit, and he swatted down R's like nobody's business. Are you kidding me, you want more of this public?
Obama should accept this challenge. I'll point you also to the utter smackdown of Republicans went he spoke and took questions at their conference. You may have forgotten, but I haven't. I hope Obama hasn't either.
Let the public see Republicans fighting for not raising taxes on millionaires. Let Obama point out the public's disapproval of the Ryan load of junk, cutting Medicare on the backs of our seniors, line em up and knock em down. Does anyone really doubt that Obama could lose any argument Republicans want to raise for what they are trying to do with the debt ceiling?
I don't know, just cite one of the multitude of economists or evidence about how catastrophic a default would be, right to their face, on television. Why the hell not? You can even use cite the S&P. What could they say to something like that?
Reiterate that Social Security is not in crisis and shouldn't be used to fix the debt. You want to double down on the momentum of NY's special election, do it now by pressing the throttle on this. Like I said, bring it.
We might as well stake it out publicly to see what the disagreements are," Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) said Friday in an interview with The Hill. "I believe Majority Leader [Harry] Reid and the president desperately are working not to have to reveal their vision for the future, financially. Their vision will include, from what glimpses we've seen, an advocacy for more taxes and less spending cuts.
Ok douche bag, lets put those disagreements out there. The only potential problem I could see would be the rollercoaster of the markets while these talks were going on, but the stakes are high anyway. I'll take the President over these jokers any day.
