We'd all like to think that our words online can affect real change. I've been railing about banks and the financial collapse. Today, Bank of America decided to settle claims with investors in those toxic mortgage-backed securities, setting the stage for other financial institutons to start cleaning up their messes, too.
It's too easy to get caught up in the echo chamber of similar worldviews. DailyKos is a fantastic resource for liberal and progressive people to share ideas. When we get lost in identity politics and conservative bashing, though, we can miss the boat on really important things. Like financial reform. 'Cause the married gay people in New York (Congratulations!) need jobs and financial security, too.
Here's my off-site Thank you and congratulations to Bank of America. It takes courage and fortitude to admit when you've made a mistake. Nice job, guys.
