Cynthia Kouril posted a diary at MyFDL called POTUS has lost New York, which I recommend that everybody read.
That was based on a Marist poll that showed that even Indies and Republicans thought the President had unfairly sold out seniors, the poor and the middle class in favor of the wealthy in the debt ceiling deal.

Now Maggie Haberman is reporting a Quinnipiac poll showing Barack Obama underwater in New York.
Supposedly, he has a 45% approval rating in this bluest of blue states. According to Mark Halperin at Time, this is the very first time the President has gotten a negative rating in the Empire State.
If you click on the link for the Quinnipiac poll you can look at the individual questions. Question #12 which goes to whether or not the President deserves to be re-elected is just devastating. Independent voters have walked out on him wholesale. He has also lost the suburbs.
9:55 AM PT: I changed "FDL" to "MyFDL", in the diary. MyFDL is for average users, not front pagers. Please don't blame Jane Hamsher for anything that I, or any other MyFDL'er writes.
12:43 PM PT: RussTC3 says that Halperin's claim of this being underwater for the first time if false:
Right...except for a September 2010 QPoll that had the President at -1 (47/48). Or a October 2010 CNN/Time poll that had the President at -3 (45/48).
