Republicans want you to have a sensation that wealthy people are Godly or heaven sent, as they replace the words; rich people or wealthy people, with "Job Creators", which is now repeated over and over by right wing media, their echo chambers and of course republicans, and now even by a few democrats.
But the rich do not need to create jobs to make money, they can make money with tax loopholes and low tax rates. And they certainly were not sent from heaven by any God as angelic “Job Creators”.
There are incontrovertible facts that show tax cuts for the rich have not, and will not create jobs, it is a myth. And there’s irrefutable facts that show that an increase of taxes on the rich have, and will create jobs.
Jobs created during the presidency of George W. Bush with a tax rate of 35% for the wealthy:
The number of jobs in the United States when President George W. Bush first took office was 132.5 million jobs. The number of jobs as of January 2009, the month he left office, there were 135.5 million jobs. A net gain of 3 million jobs
Jobs created during the presidency of Bill Clinton with a tax rate of 39.6% for the wealthy:
The number of jobs in the United States when Bill Clinton first took office was 109.4 million. The number of jobs as of January 2001, the month he left office, there were 132.5 million jobs. A net gain of 23.1 million jobs.
The difference on the tax rate for the wealthy was only 4.6%.
The source for these number is the United States Labor Department, but you can read the table of jobs created by Bush and Clinton as well as every President going back to Harry Truman at this link from the Wall Street Journal.
Republicans and their propaganda channel Fox “News”, know that if they repeat something over and over and over again, you Tea Party Folk will eventually believe it, and then repeat it, over and over and over again. And they also know you will never question it.
The Bush tax cuts have been in place for 10 years and were extended for another 2 years as they were set to expire at midnight on December 31, 2010. The first 10 years of the Bush tax cuts added $2.48 trillion to our national debt, and the 2 year extension will add an estimated $858 billion to the national debt.
And what do republicans continue to say day in and day out, about ‘Job Creators“? We must give the “Job Creators” more tax cuts.
Republicans have, and will continue to blow smoke up your Anterior Superior Spines because they know you won’t bother trying to clear the smoke from the air, you’ll just sit there taking deep breaths, then exhaling the smoke ,over and over again.
