How's this for a laugh. Rick Perry had a Ponzi scheme that robbed Texas taxpayers going on right beneath his nose as the Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Co. lost millions of Texas taxpayer dollars to Ponzi-schemer Bernie Madoff. Before the revelations that sent Madoff to jail, Perry never had a bad word to say about the real life Ponzi scheme his state was about to lose millions of taxpayer dollars to.
The Texas treasury lost $19.5 million through an investment in the Ponzi scheme run by convicted financial swindler Bernard Madoff.
The money was part of a $224.5 million investment the Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Co. had with a Texas-based hedge fund called Austin Capital Safe Harbor. Austin Capital closed in May because of losses it suffered in one of Madoff's scam investment funds.

So here's this guy running around calling Social Security a Ponzi Scheme, and yet this same guy let taxpayers in his state get swindled to the tune of $19 million dollars in a Ponzi scheme that he never saw coming.
You know what, the guy who is too dumb to realize he is getting fleeced in a Ponzi scheme doesn't get to warn me about con jobs.
More below the fold
Now, don't get me wrong, other states lost money invested in Madoff's Ponzi Scheme too, but their elected officials aren't running around calling Social Security a Ponzi Scheme, especially when Social Security is a program that is self sufficient until 2037. On the other hand, the millions lost by Texas taxpayers to Bernie Madoff during Rick Perry's run as Governor of Texas was a Ponzi scheme, but at least it was a private sector Ponzi scheme.
So while a criminal billionaire was ripping off millions from the taxpayers of the state of Texas, Rick Perry knew nothing, saw nothing and said nothing. No problem, just the free market policing itself. But the most successful government program maybe ever is a Ponzi scheme to Rick Perry. No wonder Bank of America has Rick Perry's back, because if there is one thing both Bernie Madoff and Bank of America have in common, it's their strong trust in the ability of Rick Perry to not know the difference between a crime in progress and reality.
Just consider this more proof that Texas Governor Rick Perry doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.
Now, you're moment of zen, Rick Perry starts working on his George W. Bush imitation early.
Peace and love to all
