Kathleen Vinehout, State Senator is looking into a run against soon to be recalled Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. She is a smart, tough cookie with a wonderful sense of humor in the face of the absurd.
Here is the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal article and some Linky great video and her website
This is a woman full of heart and, not just the Wisconsin ideal but, the Democratic Ideal. She believes, really believes, that working together, we can become better as a state, a nation , and as a community. Go to her site. See what she stands for and what she stands against (frack mines, cutting healthcare for children and seniors, closing schools due to budget cuts). Watch her video and see the passion she brings to the issues.
She represents the 31st district since 2006. This is pretty red and in a mostly rural area. She is a farmer, she is an educator, she works for union rights, and she believes in us.
I met her briefly at the Monona Terrace We Did It rally last Tuesday and received the warmest hug I have ever had from anyone, ever. She gave that hug to just about everyone she met. As I watched her make her way through the crowd she engaged people.
Wisconsin is lucky to have as many fine choices for a new guv as we do. La Follette and Obey, great choices, but as it has been repeatedly pointed out, they are not spring chickens. Erpenbach, genuine and smart and frankly, well, I would love to look at him for four years, but he says he won't run, last I heard. Feingold has work to be done to try and overturn Citizens United. I haven't heard anyone here or in the real world say they would support Falk.
