If you hide money you took out of the American economy overseas you are not a patriot.
There. I said it.
I am tired of rich people who have enjoyed 10 years of the Bush Tax Cuts for the rich telling me that poor people don't pay their fair share in taxes. They say that middle and low income earning Americans don't have enough "skin in the game" while the banksters have skinned us alive.
I am tired of the richest of the rich demanding EVERY BREAK, and yet refusing to give a break to the other 99% of us. We don't even want a break, we want fair treatment and a chance to work hard and prosper, but that can't happen when we are exploited and the chips are stacked against us, and frankly, I am sick of whiny rich people who keep saying that we aren't working hard enough. They sound like slave drivers. I am sick of being told we all have to sacrifice when the richest among us aren't willing to sacrifice a damned thing. Think of the anti-tax zealots who go into convulsions when we mention raising taxes on the rich. These clowns also think it is fine and fair to make poor and middle income people pay more taxes so they will have more "skin in the game." They want to have their cake and eat yours too.
Poor people don't have a Cayman Islands to put their money into. Many of those poor people only recently became poor after being unemployed in this jobless banksters paradise, and many other currently poor people used to have good paying jobs that they worked hard at everyday until Union Busters, Job Outsourcers and "Right to Work" shills destroyed many of the good jobs we used to have in America and turned them in to low paying McJobs at poverty wages with no benefits. Union busters want to blame you for your own poverty even though they created the conditions for that poverty to exist. To hell with that.
Income inequality is a disaster in America. The growing impoverishment of the working class is hurting the economy far more than any regulation Big Business would love to strip down, yet the rich and those who consume their propaganda have built a Tower of Bable around the notion that poor people are bad, lazy, criminally inclined leeches on society who game the entire system to their own benefit and yet we couldn't live without our benevolent job creating fat cats. Karl Rove would be proud. In reality, its' the other way around, you couldn't eat without a working farmer feeding you, you couldn't drive without a construction worker paving your roads, and you wouldn't be able to read this without a hard working teacher who taught you how to read. Those people are job creators. The rich son of a self made businessman who makes an income based off of stock bets he made is the idle rich, he doesn't work, he lives off of other people's work, and he should be damned grateful for it. I don't even mind that he is wealthy where he is, it is when he starts shipping my job overseas that I get mad, it is when he starts shutting down business in America so he can make a bigger CEO salary that I get mad, and when he tells me I have to fight in his wars and pay more in taxes while he hides his money in the Cayman Islands he shouldn't be surprised when I start thinking of pitchforks and torches.
The long and short of it is this. It is a disgusting outrage that the people who made wealth in the America we all worked together to build can hide that wealth in the Cayman Island to avoid taxes while demanding that the poor and working class pay more.
So here is a New Rule: You are not a patriot if you hide money you made in America in the Cayman Islands to avoid taxes, and you're not allowed to call yourself a patriot until you put your money where your mouth is and take it out of the Cayman Islands and bring it all back to America where it came from.
Rant off
Screw these whiny multi-millionaire tax cheats.
