MSNBC is going to be wall - to - wall primary coverage for the "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt" state & the "Show Me Your Papers" state, so there will be no TRMS diary tomorrow night.
It's time for "this day in history." On this date in 1991, President George H.W. Bush announced the end of the Persian Gulf War, saying the allies would suspend combat operations at midnight. Thank goodness our time there prevented any other unpleasantness from happening in that part of the world. *&^%$#@!
On this date in 1997, divorce became legal in Ireland. So, what would Newt have done with all this mistresses & extra - curricular activities if he'd lived there?
On with The Rachel Maddow Show!
"Elephant in the Room" - The SC Governator's endorsement for Mittens did him a hell of a lot of good there - NOT. The same thing happened in MN. The same thing happened in CO & MO. Are we detecting a trend here? So, will the trend hold true in MI tomorrow? And, how 'bout that "Show Me Your Papers" state Governator's endorsement? She took the courageous way out & endorsed at the LAST minute. Did I really need to see Russell Pearce again?! That auto industry bailout is an inconvenient truth for MENSA members campaigning in MI. Ads there have hit Mittens in his "let Detroit go bankrupt" behind; these ads are being run by dirty librul hippie organizations. Man on Dog didn't want the auto bailout, either. The MI GOBP don't like the bailout, either? Well, they're probably anti - union, so anything that'll help a union is a bad thing. Oh, Michael Moore?! I'm sorry; I don't have the patience or the strength for him tonight. Feel free to discuss what he said in the comments.
"Counter Reproductive" - The personhood bill in VA has gone buh - bye. The semi - toned down version may not get passed, either. A new SuperPAC is ready to defeat any VA politico who votes for these personhood & ultrasound ilky laws. The same thing is happening in AL?! WOW! The GOBP Governor claimed Sunday morning he didn't know about his own state's vaginal probe ultrasound bill; the sponsor by that night "toned down" the bill. An ultrasound bill might be down the pike in PA, too. Dems could benefit from this anti - woman $hit.
"Blocking the Aisle" - Newt's sugar daddy is being more sugary on the coin front. He's already looking to Super Tuesday next week. Mr. Adelson's made it quite clear that if Newt can't be the nominee, he wants Mittens to be the nominee. Mr. Aspirin Man better start coming through for Man on Dog! ;D What DOES motivate a billionaire supporting Mittens? GOBP rich donors were on board with marriage equality in NY?! Those same donors are supporting Mittens for POTUS. Frank Rich wrote about the politics of gay rights. Mittens was for gay civil rights before he was against them. There's a big 'ol disconnect between individual party members & the party platform as a whole because they are petrified of that accursed base. Prominent gay GOBP fundraisers are remaining silent about the homophobic ilk going on in that party. However, let us not forget that DOMA happened on Bill Clinton's watch.
