I don't care if they have suddenly found transvaginal ultrasounds are going a little too far, they just back peddled a short step for now.
I previously recommended amendments to the legislature to remove any requirement in this bill for a state mandated internal ultrasound procedure, and the General Assembly agreed that amendments were necessary. I do not believe any woman should be required by the state to undergo such an ultrasound, without her consent, as a precondition to another medical procedure. The bill I signed today ensures that will not occur.
I don't believe any elected State official, State employee , federal agency, President, representative, senator, or city dog catcher has the right to play doctor.
The only people involved in this decision is the woman and her doctor and if she consents, her partner.
It's that simple.
Nobody else has a right to interfere, if they think that they do, then, they really need to sit down and rethink what freedom means.
