My first thought was that it was a push poll. I got one of those last month. This one was different.
The person I spoke with had a think accent, possible Indian but I couldn't say for sure. Not American and not that experienced calling Americans because she had as much trouble understanding me as I did her.
It started out normal, she named her company and read her questions off a script. But then she started typing in my answers rather than making them fit into a multiple choice script.
Then finally she asked for my name. Red flags started going up and I declined to answer. Not push polling but phishing.
I haven't heard of this type of scam before but I can't think of why else a 'pollster' would be asking for personal identity information.
