Yes, another one of my poll freak-outs
Today's Rasmussen tracking polls has Romney ahead of Obama 50-43, with Obama's approval rating at 44%, his lowest in 2 months.
According to Rasmussen, this is the first time Romney has reached 50%.
I know it's Rasmussen. I know they skew to the right. But could it be that the gay marriage issue (and social issues in general) actually hurt Obama? His poll numbers sagged during the birth control controversy a few months back as well. I'm curious, though not optimistic, about what Gallup has to say later today.
I think the president did the morally right thing, but I'm not sure he did the politically smart thing.
