This is just a quick story that happened last night. Bare with me I'm writing this diary while riding in a car.
I was excited when the new health care law was signed. Finally, all people will have proper health care without the posibilty of going bankrupt. Republicans filed motions to outlaw parts of the bill. My thought was oh well sucks for you, people will be covered by insurance companies. Later, polls were done and the majority of people didn't want mandates and/or healthcare. People said they don't like mandates from the government, but the government have laws regarding you must wear seatbelts or you will be fine etc. My point government looks out for your well-being or the children you are in charge of. People may not like government in their life(including myself at times) but they are useful. I predictice the Supreme Court will overturn the mandate in 'Obamacare', no one will be shocked, well maybe MSM so they can run the story 24 hours. So here's the point of this diary. I have become numb regarding the healthcare decision. If people don't care why should I. My family have health care and that should be the only thing I care about. If people don't realize the importance of this law, FUCK IT!!
Well last week I had a doctors' appointment and there was a new patient, the nurse asked if he had insurance, he said no, the receptionist wanted all cash up front, he didn't have it, so he had to leave. I sat there shaking my head. Last night I was at Walgreens picking up a percription when this lady asked about her medicine and the pharmacist said something about it can't be pickup yet and she needs to call her doctor so they can release it. The woman started talking and told everyone her doctor just told her she has cancer and she's only 45 years old, no insurance and asked for prayers. Her medicine going to cost her 1,000 dollars. I went from not giving a fuck to being sad again. After she left, the pharmacist said she doesn't know why people don't like the new healthcare law. The pharmacist said she hear this story all the time from other customers. Good luck trying to find an insurance company.
Sigh
