Sorry for the short diary, but I am typing this from a friend's house. Yesterday I wrote a diary about wal-mart's Sick day policies. Today, it may be me who is writing about being fired from Wal-mart because of evacuations and flooding.
My car is flooded up to the roof, I am typing this from my friend's house, and am frantically looking for my elderly parents medication. I woke up this morning to flooding and my car and my parent's car floating away from our driveway.
I'd post pictures but I don't want to be identified. Email me for pictures. I am kind of technologically Ludditeish, so as soon as I figure out how to sink my phone with this laptop I am borrowing I can post pictures of the cars.
After the complete rush to get my elderly parent and myself out of the house, grab the photo albums and my parent's one joy, his laptop, and the bottle of wine(you can see where my priorities are), the only thing I could think about is how to get myself to work tomorrow so I won't get fired from Wal-mart.
I don't want to write an essay, I don't want to worry about my job, I don't want to worry about anything but getting the insurance adjuster for the car, fixing the ramp so my parent can get up with his bad hip and assess the damage.
Instead, I am going to figure out if I can make it to work, so Wal-mart doesn't make write an essay on what to say about why they shouldn't fire me. What do I put there-"Ask God to stop his Acts of God so I can come to work?"
The other thing is finding he money to pay for the deductibles for the cars. /sigh.
Just venting.
