Hi everyone, Will Easton here from CREDO Mobile.
I wanted to let you all know about a new partnership we've set up with Eco-Cell to recycle your old mobile phones and turn them into donations for progressive nonprofit groups.
Basically, the way it works is this....(more after the satanic cheese doodle below....)
- You visit our website & print out a pre-paid shipping label for your old phones
- You wrap up your old phones in bubble wrap, put 'em an envelope, slap the label on there and drop it in the mail
- Eco-Cell determines the value of your phones and sends the funds to CREDO Mobile, where they go straight into our pool of donations for the 40 awesome nonprofit groups we're funding this year.
So those old phones gathering dust in your desk drawer? Maybe your little project for today should be to clean those out and send them in to Eco-Cell.
The great thing here is that Eco-Cell has a zero-landfill policy....which means that all the phones they receive are either reused or responsibly recycled. This keeps toxics out of landfills, and saves resources that otherwise would have gone into making new phones. A strong commitment to keeping electronic waste out of landfills is just one small part of CREDO's green policies. (We're also focused on stopping climate-disaster projects such as coal-fired power plants and the Keystone XL pipeline....you can read more about our environmental efforts here.)
So I hope you'll all go grab those old phones (and accessories, chargers etc. etc.) that you've been accumulating -- and send them in to be responsibly recycled. Seriously -- you're never going to use them again, so why hold on to them?
(And if you're going to send phones in, please post a short comment to that effect below -- for everyone who commits to recycling a phone, there are beverages involved for yours truly.)
Many thanks.
- Will
