TODAY'S COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION FEATURE:
Do You Dream?
Tell Us Your Best Dream and Worst Nightmare You've Ever Had?
|
Do you dream?
Some report that they don't remember their dreams. Sad that. I dream every night and vividly. They often wake me up in the middle of the night because they are so stark. Sometimes they are troubling or downright horrifying. Sometimes they are sweet and hopeful. I keep a file where I write down the most significant ones. Ones that I want to definitely remember. I can't tell you those. They reveal too much.
Simply, your dreams are your greatest desires or your greatest fears.
You create symbols in your mind to act these fears and desires out. Such as things you're afraid of or things you want. Sometimes your dream won't make sense to you upon awakening. Maybe you blow it off or if you're like me... you search for the meaning of those symbols your mind manifested. For example, what is utmost in my concerns right now, you'll likely dream about that. Fantasies of escaping, sports, problems at work, loves desired and lost, etc.
My best dream was about seeking a vacation in a tropical place. I dreamed I was dozing in a large three pointed hammock suspended over a vast wooden deck that had maybe three bungalows as single bedrooms all on the deck. Bungalows each with one full side open. There were tropical flowering trees overhead, the smell of cloves and the salt of the ocean. There were trays of tropical fruit nearby. A lazy blue sky and nothing but calm. And it was far, far away...
See. My greatest desire.
And now for my scariest dream. In fact it was so scary I can't remember all of it. But it went like this.
It was very dark. Something terrible was going to happen, so terrible, the most terrible thing in the world. I remember thinking this cannot happen, this cannot happen... but it's going to... and as it happened I woke up with a loud scream and sweating with my heart pounding. Usually I remember my dreams just before I wake up. This one... no. I blocked it out.
It troubles me to this day.
So...
YOUR TURN: Do You Dream?
Tell Us Your Best Dream and Worst Nightmare Ever?
Tell me.
I'm listening.
