So, this shit sucks. It is early evening and I can't even go outside. No, it's not raining, it isn't hot out either. It's the mosquitoes. I have severe eczema. Mosquitoes and eczema do not mix. At all. I get one mosquito bite and all hell breaks loose. I break out into hives-like rash, that will just stay on my skin for days or even weeks. More than 75% of the time, it spreads.
Example: Bug bite- becomes- full blown, angry rash.
As most of you know, my eczema makes me allergic to just about anything. I am allergic to insects. I am allergic to grass. I am allergic to anything outside except for the sun. In one of my previous blogs, I mentioned how I almost went into shock because of cockroaches- same happens with mosquitoes. I was outside for less than 2 minutes earlier and was bitten more than 10 times- all while I was flailing my arms around to beat mosquitoes away from me.
What most of you don't know is that I do bottle etching. Bottle etching can be done either with store bought etching kits or with a dremel tool. I choose to work with a dremel. Since the dremel etching at the glass creates dust, I wanted to do it outside, which obviously is now impossible. So either now, I have to make some stupid ass looking mesh contraption to keep me on the inside of it, or do it inside of the house. So now, I'm in quite of a pickle.
I absolutely love doing crafty little projects- it's my imagination kicking up, but it only happens ever so often. Maybe a handful of times every 4 to 6 months. In those crafty times, I try all sorts of things-etching, paper cutting, painting, design- anything to do with art. Most of the times, I stick with writing.
Recently, my best friend's mom decided that she's going to enroll me into a craft show in November and brought over about 30 different wine bottles(yay me!) so I can start etching them. She instructed me to make "order forms" and make "sample bottles" and then do a few themed bottles. My best friend's family comes from a high class estate(I'm to the point of poor that I eat dirt compared to them lol) with money- I was told not to worry about getting wine bottles as they have an endless amount from all the parties, get-togethers and dinners they hold weekly.
I don't really know if I am looking forward to etching intricate designs on bottles with a dremel(to those of you who have never used a dremel- it shakes, a LOT). I like being creative but I have procrastinated too long as it is. This whole mosquito situation is making this difficult, unfortunately as I really do want to do this. Apparently a lot of people my best friend's mom knows LOVE anything used with wine bottles as decorations.
I hate this. Stupid fucking mosquitoes.
