President Barack Obama is a “drug dealer of welfare,” conservative commentator Pat Buchanan charged in an interview with Fox News’s Greta Van Susteren Tuesday night.
“Barack Obama is a drug dealer of welfare,” he said, speaking on “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.” “He wants permanent dependency, in my judgment, of all these folks…somehow getting benefits, benefits, benefits and paying no taxes.” -Politico
How can the right hope to compete for today's and tomorrow's electoral minds with unbecoming remarks like this made on prominent conservative entertainment shows by prominent conservatives who, like Buchanan, bemoan "
the end of White America" and call a sitting black President a "drug dealer of welfare"?
How in the world can conservatives take themselves seriously with tony candidates like Romney publicly lying about Obama's welfare policies while privately writing off half the country as dependent freeloading moochers with no personal responsibility?
This, and the larger pattern of conservative thinking, is just mind-blowingly ridiculous.
Here's to the lazy ones. The moochers. The victims. The freeloaders. The brown dregs and the square pols. The ones who want free handouts. They're not fond of working hard, and they have no respect for the hard-working. You can feed them, house them, hospitalize, or you-name-it them. About the only thing you can't do is get them to accept personal responsibility. Because they just want things. They push the other campaign slogan "Forward". And while some may see them as just wanting a little help, we see dependency. Because the people who are lazy enough to think they can pay no income taxes - are the ones who do vote for Obama." -What Mitt Romney may as well have said
