Central Ohio Kossacks is a collection of folks living in and around Columbus, Ohio. The "in and around" parts include, but are by no means limited to, Westerville, Whitehall, Gahanna, Reynoldsburg, Grove City, Upper Arlington, Grandview, Dublin, and Worthington. Outliers are welcome, but Delaware County residents get probationary status until we understand why your county blew the 88 of 88 sweep against S.B. 5.

Volunteers Needed!
The Franklin County Democratic Party is in need of volunteers to help us man the phones at Party headquarters. We are getting an enormous amount of phone calls from voters seeking information. We do not want to miss these important phone calls at this time of the year. If we cannot help voters we may not get their vote.
We are also getting phone calls for voters who may need transportation to the polls. We have a long list of drivers who are more than willing to make sure every person has a chance to cast their ballot.
If you can help even for a couple hours per day, we would really appreciate it. We especially need people on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This would only be until after the election.
If you can help the Democrats in Franklin County, please call 614-229-5286 or e-mail us at franklincountydemocraticparty@gmail.com.
We are located at 545 E. Town Street. There is free parking available in the teamster’s parking lot on Walnut Street behind our headquarters. Please help us to educate voters.
At the FDCP link, you can also sign up for the
final presidential debate party with Ed Schultz.

Kudos to Kurt from CMH for his great work liveblogging the debate between Sherrod Brown and Josh Mandel.

Did you know? Franklin County, where most of us live, adds a lot of the blue that gives Ohio its purple hue. Everyone knows that Ohio went from blue to the mean reds in 2010. Kasich defeated Strickland by a thin margin in the state; out of over 3.6 million votes cast, Kasich won by about 75,000. So where did we stand in that election?
In Franklin County, Strickland was the winner by a nine point margin. In terms of total votes by county, only Cuyahoga gave Strickland more votes than we did. Alas, Franklin County went red when it came to sending Rob Portman to the Senate. I'm happy to blame that on the sheer awfulness of Lee Fisher as a candidate.
If you're curious, in the last three presidential elections, Franklin County's vote went to Gore, Kerry, and Obama.

That's all for now. Remember:
Show John Husted what you think of him: VOTE EARLY.
