Like his father, Mitt Romney opposed the Vietnam War. Interesting what a hawk he has since become.
In a May 28, 1970 article in the Morgantown Dominion News, he appears in an article called "Cabinet Kids Protest Too".
Here is the quote (I can't provide a link because I got this from newspaperarchive.com, which allows free searching but very limited views). here is the relevant quote:
"Mitt Romney, 23, uses his father's famous remark to show where he stands. "I think we were brainwashed" says the son of Housing and Urban Development Secretary George Romney. If it wasn't a political blunder to move into Vietnam I don't know what is."
Although the next sentence indicated that he supported the Nixon's administration moving into Cambodia in order to end the war faster.
It is still somewhat interesting that he recognized the error of Vietnam but couldn't (or wouldn't) recognize the error of Iraq!
