There is an elementary school in Gallup, NM that is in need of a good paint job. And coincidently, Glidden Paints is donating 200 gallons of paint to the school that receives the most votes in their contest. I received this email explaining everything:
Ya’at’eeh from Indian Country! We need your assistance networking to help out our school.
A few weeks ago, Jefferson Elementary in Gallup, NM, entered a contest with Glidden Paint to win 200 gallons of paint (enough to paint our entire, decrepit old school) and a paint contractor to make over our school—a package worth $50,000. We were selected as one of five national finalists and are now going head to head with four other schools from across the nation (the others are from GA, CA, OH, and MS). Basically, whoever gets the most votes wins.
We need your help (and a lot of paint). Please go to (Glidden site---link is below) Please do this on every computer or mobile device (iPad, iPod, cell phone) you have. Voting is open through Oct. 26.
Also, if you are willing to forward this to your staff, your friends, and your family, we would be most appreciative! Let’s beat those other schools!
Thanks,
Kim Orr
Principal
To register your vote,
click here. I did a little research, and found that this school's student body consists of 56% Native Americans and 31% Hispanics. We know there are lots of schools in need of repair. Call me biased, but I was happily inclined to give Jefferson Elementary School my vote.
Please vote and then pat yourself on the back. You did a good deed today!
Also, it might help to rec this to get as many eyes as possible. Thank you.
UPDATE: We've added about 650 votes so far! Thank you all!
1:26 PM PT: We've added about 1,000 votes today! Wow!
