I was concerned that one person (just one so far) has protested that I always use the same title for my diary, which happens to be the title of my book. I'm not going to bend, because of this one person- only because it is (without me realizing how much it would be) a huge and passionate topic of discussion. And i know that it's only because of the recent events and the elimination or narrowing of Obama's lead.
People are sad and frustrated about this. It took me 2 years to write this book and it's incredibly frustrating for me in that I can't figure out how this has happened- especially after you consider the scorecard (from Romney's 47% video to having the worst campaigned summer imaginable to losing 2 out of the 3 debates, etc). There are reasons that we can all think of- but it doesn't add up. Then, of course, you go to the racism and I'm still not sure that it adds up. One bad debate (Obama) vs. a million screw ups (Romney). And remember, few Republicans were all that fond of Romney from the beginning. I'm not going to say obvious things like- "They're fond of him now, because he might defeat Obama."- because it still doesn't add up. So, the answer that everyone is left with has to do with stupidity.
The sub-title of my book is "Legitimate Rape, an Illigitimate President, and the Politics of Nonsense." I just heard today that an Indiana candidate for the US Senate- Mourdock-said that he opposes abortion even in the case of rape because the pregnancy is "something that God intended to happen." What moron would vote for this guy now? Millions.
It's sad, but maybe people have to realize A) How serious it is- and B) the ones who we count on to do the fighting or teaching or explaining aren't doing that great a job of either one. After the 47% video, this shouldn't even be close.
