The fabulously talented Lena Dunham best known for her portrayal of Hannah Horvath in HBO's hit series Girls has released an ad supporting Obama that has completely unhinged the wingers.
Twitter has been burning up with conservative outrage. But nothing that has been said so far can even begin to top this response from Nancy Pense of Concerned Women for America.
The misogynistic Obama Campaign has released an obnoxious, double-entendre of a Web ad, featuring a woman who looks and acts like an overly immature, tattooed twelve-year-old. Once again, Obama is reducing women to — do we have to say it again? — 'lady parts.' Well, the pimply faced adolescents over at Obama HQ need to grow up and realize that we think with our brains and act with our hearts — again, 'Lady Smarts, Not Lady Parts.' Obama’s good ‘ol boys may have their minds in the gutter, but our minds are on our pocketbooks. In every sense of the phrase, 'It’s the economy, stupid.' Did they miss the headline about the 'gender gap' between Obama and Romney disappearing? Maybe it’s because we’re not a bunch of cheap floozies, easily bought with condoms and free pills.
Bolding mine, and have you ever seen anything quite so upside-down, inside-out and hypocritical? Over the past week, we have seen absolutely jaw dropping remarks coming from the likes of Richard Mourdock and Josh Mandel without so much as a peep from these "concerned women". But just let an empowered woman like Lena Dunham make a playful and entertaining ad and there isn't enough smelling salts in all the land to bring these women to their senses.
I think a new group needs to be formed to provide an intervention. We can call it Concerned Women for Concerned Women for America. The first step is admitting they have a problem.
