Although President Obama hasn't visited NC since the Democratic Convention in September, he has sent some very powerful surrogates here to help with the Get Out The Vote efforts.
Superstar Alicia Keys rocked the vote for President Barack Obama yesterday in Raleigh and Greensboro. On Saturday and Sunday, some more entertainment and sports personalities are expected to visit North Carolina to help with these efforts. The Triangle and the Triad areas are some of the most densely populated areas in NC. They are college towns with large numbers of students, Minorities and implants. Which makes them a large reservoir of potential Obama supporters. In past elections, these areas have voted Democratic probably 60/40 and have offset the Republican votes from Red counties.
Follow me below with some pictures from Yesterday's events. The pictures are courtesy of Obama for America North Carolina.
NC crossed the 1 million voters threshold for Early voters a couple of days ago and is on its way to set an all time record turnout. About 5+ millions North Carolinian are expected to vote this election. Only 4.3 millions voted 4 years ago. The demographics in NC have been changing for the past 10 years, which has made NC a real swing state.
However, in order for Democrats to win they MUST get out the vote in huge numbers, especially minorities and the youth votes, because the Republican base is still massive, although shrinking.
On Friday, Alicia Keys brought her star power to help get out the vote. These pictures were taking in Greensboro at North Carolina A and T.

In Durham, NC, a few local bands entertained the voters and help them get to the polls.
Even this guy didn't want to be left behind. Yes, we can see he has made his choice.
There are other events going on today throughout the State. And this is just one of them.
If you haven't planned your day yet, please make sure you sacrifice a few hours of your day for the future of our Nation. We MUST move forward, not backwards. Remember that you can help, no matter where you live.
If you don't feel comfortable talking to strangers, talk to family and friends and tell them why they need to vote for the President. I think the future of our Nation is too important to stay on the sideline. This Election will be a game of inches and every vote count. Every single one of them. We can't afford to lose this election. There is so much at stake in North Carolina.
I'm scheduled to start knocking on doors in about an hour from now ... until my legs can't carry me anymore. If you want to help, here is a good place to start ...
Come on folks, let's do this. Let's win this ...
