I watched the debate, too, Chris Matthews. And I was shocked and outraged at your foaming-at-the mouth reaction. I'm normally an MSNBC junkie. But, tonight, you and the others pundits are creating an unwarranted, overly influential, group-think, negative narrative about the President's performance and Mitt Romney's supposed "win."
Because of you guys, I left our debate watch party discouraged and depressed. I'm not even sure you and I were watching the same debate in the same universe. Standing tall, smirking, telling lies and flip flopping don't equal "winning."
But when I got home and opened Daily Kos diaries , I was reminded that "you people" don't have a monopoly on opinions. And, as I read the boatload of diaries with alternative ideas about tonight's debate, I started to feel affirmed and possibly even able to go to sleep.
So, I've been rec'ing a lot of diaries tonight, because I want to thank all of the Kossacks out there who think for themselves and haven't lost faith in Barack Obama simply because he didn't stoop to Romney's level of meanness and stayed true to his even-tempered self. Thanks, people. And goodnight.
