not just talking about it.
The Proof is in the Pudding right here.
“I spoke to the president three times yesterday,” he explained. “He called me for the last time at midnight last night asking what he could do. I said, if you can expedite designating New Jersey as a major disaster area that that would help us to get federal money and resources in here as quickly as possible to help clean up the damage here.”
“The president was great last night,” Christie continued. “He said he would get it done. At 2 a.m., I got a call from FEMA to answer a couple of final questions and then he signed the declaration this morning. So I have to give the president great credit. He’s been on the phone with me three times in the last 24 hours. He’s been very attentive, and anything that I’ve asked for, he’s gotten to me. So, I thank the president publicly for that. He’s done — as far as I’m concerned — a great job for New Jersey.”

That is franky the best endorsement, an
honest direct no B.S. endorsement, that Obama could have possibly gotten at this late date in the campaign. Christie is clearly a partisan, he gave the
Keynote Speech at the GOP Convention that Nominated Mitt Romney.
But finally, when Lives are on the Line, he tells it like it truly is and gives the President to Props he deserves and has deserved on a whole host of issues for a long time.
And it only gets better from here.
“Over the last couple of months, you have appeared throughout the country, Governor, on behalf of Mitt Romney,” Doocy remarked to Christie. “[W]e hear that perhaps Mr. Romney may do some storm-related events. Is there any possibility that Gov. Romney may go to New Jersey to tour some of the damage with you?”
“I have no idea, nor am I the least bit concerned or interested,” Christie replied, immediately shutting down the idea. “I’ve got a job to do here in New Jersey that’s much bigger than presidential politics and I could [sic] care less about any of that stuff.”

Oh Booyah! That's Bipartisan right in
your face.
This is how shit is supposed to be.
When people's lives are on the line whether it's because of access to affordable Health Care, the approaching Fiscal Cliff, or how we handle jobs and the economy, the fact is that we've been living through a Sandy Sized Economic Storm-aGeddon for the last several years, and Obama has done about a as good a job as anyone could of steering us out of it. But instead of saying to the President this is what we need, can you get it? Or trying to work with him across the aisle to the betterment of the American people - the GOP had been playing SABOTAGE THE NATION, because they think they can get the White House back in their hands that way.
They Blocked the American Jobs Act.
They Blocked the Veterans Jobs Bill.
They Blocked the Anti-Outsourcing Bill.
They Blocked the Infrastructure Bill.
They were the ones who crashed us into the debt ceiling and had our credit downgraded.
They've tried to blame all of this on "Obama's Policies" when nearly half of economic his policies - thanks to them - haven't even been implemented.
Lord HELP US ALL if that trick actually works.
And now we have Mitt Romney - who once said that FEMA should be handed over to the States and then privatized Profitized because I guess when the State is mostly underwater and people's homes are falling apart it's a great time ask the Underwater State to BAIL ITSELF OUT and to make a few extra BUCKS at their expense in the process.
Yeah, that's quintessentially "American".
Remember this?
That's Blackwater "patrolling" the Streets of New Orleans during Katrina. Who was footing the bill for this? Where are their loyalties, to the people, or just the
corporate people who are paying their bills? This is what you get when you dis-empower government to the point that it becomes completely incompetent.
You get Mercenaries on the Streets protecting Corporations at ridiculously overpriced rates, not Civil Servants protecting the People.
That would be Romney's America.
“Every time you have an occasion to take something from the federal government and send it back to the states, that’s the right direction,” the former Massachusetts governor said, adding that it would be “even better” to “send it back to the private sector.”
At the time, King even pressed Romney on whether he would completely eliminate federal disaster relief.
“We cannot — we cannot afford to do those things without jeopardizing the future for our kids,” the candidate insisted.”It is simply immoral, in my view, for us to continue to rack up larger and larger debts and pass them on to our kids, knowing full well that we’ll all be dead and gone before it’s paid off. It makes no sense at all

Asked about this today, Romney ducked the question.
And this guy wants to be President? Guess what - We already Have a President and the last two days have just proved more than any stump speech could, that he deserves to Stay the President. Period.
