I just went over to Politico. That generally raises my bloodpressure, so it's relatively rare. But I saw an article and photo of Florida voters waiting in line to vote. My entire adult life, I have never lived in a place that had a long line to vote. I don't remember any lines in Schenectady, NY. No lines in Pasadena, CA. No lines in Richmond or Oakland, CA. Maybe there have been one or two people in front of me, and a slight delay as an elderly person looked for my name, but there have been no lines snaking around the building.
This is the article that prompted my very first diary:
Florida vote problems don’t wait for Election Day
This looks much more like my experience with the DMV! I feel I must help!
My question to myself and you is: Is there any sort of non-partisan group that just helps the ones who do their part by waiting in these lines? brings them cookies & lemonade, etc.?
In short, how can I help?
