Short diary, just for what it's worth. I voted mid-morning. I reside in an inside-the-beltway precinct in Northern Virginia. This is a strongly Democratic area, but not overwhelmingly so -- there is a good mix of Republicans and conservatives, but I'd guess at least 60% Democratic.
I obviously don't know how people are actually voting, but I've never seen the lines this long -- not even in 2008. The others in line around me agreed. It still wasn't bad, not like the horror stories of people standing in line for hours in other states, but I stood in line for a half hour, and usually it takes about 3 minutes. Let's hope this is a harbinger of a big northern Virginia turnout for Obama, enough to put Virginia in the blue column.
