To Papa Johns, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Denny's, Walmart and anyone else who says being reasonable can't be done- Shame on you! Dick's, a locally owned Seattle burger chain, proves it can treat employees with respect and human decency.
"Dick's is a family-owned company. We treat our employees like family. Dick's employees are paid more and receive better benefits than employees of any other fast food restaurant in the Seattle area."
But is it profitable, you ask?
Dick's has been thriving since 1954- that's
long before ObamaCare!
Dick's provides 100% health and Dental insurance to it's employees. In addition, Dick's offers starting wages above its competitors, child care assistance, scholarships for college, vocational or self-improvement course.
"As an extension of our Scholarship Program, childcare assistance of between $3,000-$8,000 per year is available to employees working 20 hours per week for at least six months -- and continuing to work at least 20 hours per week while receiving childcare assistance. If an employee doesn't use any or all of their available scholarship funds for tuition, they can use it for childcare."
"We feel it is important for our employees to get involved in our community. Our community service benefit encourages employees to help local charities. Dick's will pay volunteer-employee's their regular hourly wage for up to 4 hours per month of volunteer time."
How do they do it with out a a surcharge for humanity on fries and shakes? It's all part of the magic of caring! Check it out here:
