Yes, I've been donating money, making phone calls and knocking on doors for local Dem candidates. But I've also been donating and calling all over the country for other Democrats, including President Obama. As a Nebraskan, it gives me great pleasure to feel like I can make some difference for the country, because so often it is so hopeless for us progressives here in our own state.
While Kos doesn't care for Bob Kerrey, he is urging everyone to do the right thing and support him for the good of the country. That is sound judgment.
Senator Ben Nelson was not ideal, but the D behind his name did help tip the scales in the US Senate to the vital majority we needed. And in Nebraska, any Democrat who can win is all right by me.
Frankly, I thought we had had it when Nelson announced his retirement. But now we have a serious chance to retain this vital US Senate seat in the Dem column, and by golly, I'm going to ask you all to help us do that.
Kossacks need to know how important it is to Democrats in a predominantly red state to get support from fellow progressives nation wide. Imagine how important a Dem in the US Congress can be for us! It's the kind of thing that can make a huge psychological difference not just to us, but to the overall sanity balance in our state. We low population nondescript red states are used to being written off by the rest of the country, but this is one time we really need your attention and help. Please! Do whatever you can to support Bob Kerrey's race in Nebraska!
