Folks, I’ve just about had it with McCain (and his lil’ gang) over this fake Benghazi issue. I won’t bore you with obvious points about how Rice became the fall-guy for Hillary and General Petraeus’ areas of responsibility.
My point is this:
Why didn’t these three anticipate the Benghazi attack on 911?
They are wise sages with decades of experience on multiple international security committees. They know all of the generals, ambassadors and security folks. They were fully aware of the unrest in Libya and Egypt.
Did either of them pick-up the phone just once to check on the Embassy Security details as we approached 911?
No…of course not!!
Why not?
Because Ayotte and McCain were on the Romney campaign trail yelling “you didn’t build that” instead of doing their jobs.
Look at just a few of the committees they served on:
John McCain:
1. Ranking Member, Senate Committee on Armed Services
2. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
3. Member, Subcommittee on International Security
Wait.
He sat on the International Security Committee? So, why didn’t he provide international security in Benghazi? I’m “troubled even more” after learning about this.
How about Ayotte’s committees?
1. Senate Committee on Armed Services
2. Ranking Member, Subcommittee on Readiness and Management Support
3. Member, Subcommittee on Personnel
4. Member, Subcommittee on SeaPower
And Lindsey Graham?
1. Senate Committee on Armed Services
2. Member, Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities
3. Member, Subcommittee on Readiness and Management Support
4. Ranking Member, Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs
5. Member, Subcommittee on Defense
Wow, these are some important people who sit on all the right committees. Why didn’t they ask the right questions? I mean if Susan Rice didn’t ask the right questions from her UN post, surely one of these competent security experts could have seen the attack coming.
While we’re on this, I wonder what the “Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities” does? Hold on, let me look it up:
“The Emerging Threats and Capabilities Subcommittee is responsible for overseeing counter-terrorism programs and initiatives and counterproliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Additionally, this subcommittee oversees U.S. Special Operations Forces, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), information technology and programs, force protection policy and oversight, and related intelligence support. It makes sure that our nation is protected against terrorist attacks and unconventional threats.”
Wait…say that again:
“It makes sure that our nation is protected against terrorist attacks and unconventional threats.”
Hmmm, these people didn’t do their jobs.
Shouldn’t we blame THEM for Benghazi?
