A link to a 2 minute clip from NPR's "All Things Considered" program today. (I tried an embed but it didn't work.
The money shot, sorry, I'm not a big transcriber,
President Obama unveiled a new Twitter hash-tag today "my2k". that's a reference to the $2000 plus in additional taxes..."
Screw Twitter! We have a political machine that just needs ignition. Another link, same source, from
yesterday. The point I want people to hear is that after the President presented his Job Creation Program, he asked people to "lift their voice, tell the people here tonight that you want action now." And when he said, "call your member of congress", as the NPR reporter notes, "the phone system in the capitol crashed with the flood of phone calls." Rachel said it last night:

It's time to crash some phone systems. It's clobberin' time.
My Votebuilder account(s) have been eliminated or restricted, I can no longer build virtual phone banks or organize my volunteer groups. (Okay, I built a few phone lists that my FOs didn't know about, but we made 900+ calls to Spanish language speakers over 40 years old who wouldn't have been called by Spanish speakers otherwise. And there were a few canvassing teams that had access to "gated" communities and "inaccessible" apartment buildings. So shoot me. This wasn't my first time at the Rodeo.)
I can look at the pretty pictures on Dashboard, but I can't do jack squat anymore. Is it just me? If you can, if you still have access, go get 'em!
FOs, volunteer coordinators, data people, those of us who cut territories, organized (virtual or otherwise) phone banks and did phone banking, with data sheets, volunteering your homes and refreshments and all that (thank you!), we need to keep going. If you still have an active account with the software you were using, get them to let us organize. Anyone with a still active account has a link to contact the administrators. Use it. Build phone bank volunteers. Cut virtual phone bank lists. We're still in campaign mode, even if the election is over.
Contact Votebuilder, or whatever organization your state uses, and get them to let us organize virtual phone banks. Yes. I got Jeremy Bird's (from OFA) survey, and his nice thank you, but anyone who is higher than me (which is practically everyone) at OFA, get them to let us organize a grassroots phone campaign. Not a GOTV, but I want us to focus on the House Republicans. I know we had GOTV in red/purple House districts, and I want their local/D.C. offices phone-bombed. I want their email boxes overflowing with "Hey, you jerks lost!" emails. I want every Rethug House member to know that 2014 isn't that far away. If they want a tea-bagging primary, we'll help. If they're a tea-bagger, they should know that they're targets. Gerrymandering isn't unbeatable. We can do a presidential election style GOTV in their House district, if the PtB let us.
We are the change we've been looking for. Let us use the tools we have (had?) available. Let us fight.
