Your eyes are glued shut from weeping in your sleep (because MONDAY was coming). Your head throbs from the barometric changes. Rain is pouring down outside and that drop of water thudding on your head was either a leak or the damned cat drooling on you. Suddenly a loud buzz sounds in your ears. The alarm! Yes, it's MONDAY!
Get up.
GET UP!
GET UP!
GET UP!!!
oh never mind
Let me rifle through my Tweet file and see if I have any eye openers. Coffee should be ready soon.
(if the pic here doesn't show, click the link - I may do this this year!)
It's always fun to read about Orly Taitz being defeated yet again.
I love it when my elitist hatred of vinyl windows is justified (especially the despicable fake divided lights). Apologies to all who have them. ;-)
Now, on to the history lesson! Hey! I thought I told you to get UP!
On This Day

In 1901, Teddy Roosevelt gave a lengthy speech asking the House to curb the power of trusts "within reasonable limits".
In 1960, the musical Camelot premiered at the Majestic Theatre on Broadway. It later became associated with the Kennedy administration (though most of them couldn’t sing).

In 1984, at a Union Carbide pesticide plant in Bhopal, India, a methyl isocyanate leak killed more than 3,800 people immediately and injured between 150,000–600,000 others. (An estimated 6,000 of them later died from their injuries.) It was one of the worst industrial disasters in history. (But of course we don’t need regulations.)
In 1997, in Ottawa, Canada, representatives from 121 countries signed The Ottawa treaty prohibiting manufacture and deployment of anti-personnel land mines. The United States, People's Republic of China, and Russia, the three that most needed to, did not sign the treaty.
